Restraint and Breakaway Instructor Refresher Course (3 Day)

The Main Aims of the Course are:
To refresh and re-accredit existing NFPS Accredited Instructors in Physical Intervention / Control & Restraint and Breakaway Skills Training, and to refresh and re-accredit NFPS Ltd Approved Handcuff Trainers.
NFPS Licensed Centres
It is a requirement of anyone who holds NFPS Ltd. Approved Licensed Centre status to attend this course if you wish to be re-licensed for another year.
Professional And Public Liability Insurance
Attendance of this course is also important if you wish to renew your Instructors Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance. Please note that any insurance held is invalid without a current in-date Instructors certificate. WHAT ELSE IS NEW IN 2012..............

BTEC Level 3 PI Trainers Award for the Private Security IndustryFor those of you who teach the NEW SIA Approved PI unit (Module 4) to Door Supervisors we can also provide you with the BTEC Level 3 Award in The Delivery of Physical Intervention Training in the Private Security Industry (QCF) Qualification. |

- To review and up-skill existing physical restraint and breakaway techniques
- To update delegates in any recent changes in the law in relation to the use of physical force, including any cases of criminal and civil law
- To review any updates to specific guidance contained in various current Professional Codes of Practice including Governmental guidance documents that relate to the use of physical force, and specific guidance and documentation that relates to the use of physical force with children
- To further instruct delegates in the various appropriate technical physical skills required for the competent application of physical intervention and restraint including appropriate methods of restraining, holding still and containing young people
- To further coach delegates in the correct physical techniques involved in coaching physical restraint in relation to and in compliance with the Manual Handling Regulations 1992
- To further coach existing instructors in techniques designed to minimise the risk of positional asphyxiation, including reference to NICE's guidance on restraint being used for "the minimum possible amount of time" and how that may be interpreted
- To allow delegates to further practice and instruct physical restraint in various situational scenarios to expose delegates to increasing levels of pressure to simulate the types of environmental and personal pressures that they may be exposed to and expected to operate in
