What is the difference between a 'risk' and a 'gamble'? Well, gambling is when you at the mercy of the odds and where you have no control in the final outcome. In short you depend a lot on luck.
A 'risk' however, is different. When taking a risk a successful person weighs up the benefits and drawbacks, considers the costs involved, and then makes a final decision based on maximising gain and minimising loss.
The main difference between a risk and a gamble is that successful people take calculated risks whereas other less-successful people gamble their luck.
As professional consultants in our chosen field we understand this absolutely. In doing so we are consistently monitoring and amending what we do to minimise the risk to you if you are thinking of attending our courses. In short, we want you to maximise your investment in you, thus gaining much, much more than you could ever possibly lose. To do this we actively monitor our performance based on active feedback (feedback during a course) and reactive feedback (feedback post course). This is just part of what we refer to (and teach) as 'Reflective Coaching Practice' a founding stone for all personal and professional improvement.
If you are thinking about attending our Restraint & Breakaway Instructor Qualifying Course the following feedback should be of benefit to you and help you decide why training with us cold possibly be the best choice you could make.
Why attend our Restraint & Breakaway Instructors Qualifying Course? - What are the benefits?

External Evaluations
In addition to our own assessment of our training we have also had our training operationally audited in line with health and safety legislation, by a qualified and health and safety professional, in-line with relevant health and safety legislation and including the consultation regulations. The following therefore, is an independent assessment of our training by an in-house health and safety professional for training delivered to NHS Security Staff. The following is a breakdown of the findings of his own independent evaluation.
Control and restraint (C&R) training evaluation - Security Officer Survey
As part of the Security Officer C&R training evaluation the opinions of the participants themselves was canvassed. This was by way of a questionnaire sent to all the officers. The questionnaires were in two parts, the first related to the current C&R training course and training providers, whilst the second part related to any previous C&R training courses and training providers that the Security Officers had undertaken. On both parts the same twelve questions and response options were asked (as below).
The questionnaires could be completed anonymously to enable Security Officer's to freely express their own personal opinions.
