N.O.R.M.A. has been set up to provide Accreditation, Ratification & Certification of Instructional & Coaching Awards consistent with National Governing Body standards and criteria, specific for Occupational Physical Skill application that satisfy the formalised criteria of assessment and approval as mandated by the technical Committee of N.O.R.M.A., mandated by the BJJAGB.
N.O.R.M.A. is committed to promoting best practice within the scope of occupational physical skills coaching and instruction, with specific focus on physical restraint, breakaway and self-defence.
N.O.R.M.A. is not industry, organisation or sector specific and as such does not advise on the application of Occupational Skill within any specific public or private organisational sector. This we see as the responsibility of each and every organisation's Corporate and / or Departmental Directorate's Management obligation under current common and statute law (Health and Safety, etc.).
N.O.R.M.A. is not set up to endorse any specific system of restraint or breakaway / self-defence. That has to be (and always has been) the responsibility of the commissioning agency, as is required by Health and Safety statute.
N.O.R.M.A. provides the source from which individuals and organisations can develop their knowledge base and competence in their professional coaching and instructional areas.
N.O.R.M.A. Membership and Approved Licensed Centre Status will demonstrate that an organisation or individual has achieved a level of Coaching Excellence consistent with National Governing Body Coaching Award and Certification Criteria.
NFPS Ltd and N.O.R.M.A. - The Benefits for You.
We at NFPS Ltd., have been working closely with the BJJAGB in an advisory and consultative capacity for some time now and we are delighted with the launch of N.O.R.M.A. and the opportunities it brings for professional coaching development and recognition for those of you who have trained and who intend to train with us.
The relationship allows us to offer NFPS Accredited Instructors and Coaches National Governing Body Certification in addition to the NFPS and BTEC Awards that so many of you already possess. This means that on attendance of future NFPS courses you will be eligible to apply for a National Governing Body Coaching Certificate through N.O.R.M.A. at the appropriate level. In addition, many of you may wish to join N.O.R.M.A. as a Member at Level 1, 2 or 3 (see next page) and by doing so gain Professional Instructor Indemnity Insurance through N.O.R.M.A. and also have your details listed on the N.O.R.M.A. web-site at the appropriate Membership Level or as an Approved Licensed Centre.
If you become an NFPS Ltd. Approved Licensed Centre you will automatically be eligible to have your details shown on the N.O.R.M.A. web-site also. By having your details up there you will be able to demonstrate to your current or prospective clients that you have demonstrated and achieved a Level of Coaching Excellence not available anywhere else.
In addition, as a N.O.R.M.A. / NFPS Ltd Approved Licensed Centre you will be eligible to apply to offer specific N.O.R.M.A. / NFPS / BTEC Courses yourself and apply for certification through N.O.R.M.A. for the individuals you train. We will be advertising dates to run the NGB Level 1 and 2 Coaching Courses and if you hold a BTEC Level 3 Coaching Award you will be eligible, on completion of the NGB Level 1 and / or 2 Course yourself, to teach the courses once a Licence Agreement is in place.
And even further to that, if you possess the appropriate NGB Coaching Awards, or BTEC Equivalent, we will even consider approving your courses for N.O.R.M.A. Accreditation should you be able to demonstrate and evidence the appropriate information required. That means that if you have already developed, or are intending to develop, your own training system you can apply for N.O.R.M.A Approval. This is a formalised process of training system accreditation and ratification consistent with a formal quality management endorsement. That means that if N.O.R.M.A. has 'Approved' your system you have evidenced that you have demonstrated that you have a formal system of training methodology, construction and delivery in place. Once achieved your courses will be covered by N.O.R.M.A.'s Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance and you can issue N.O.R.M.A certificates to those who attend you courses.
