What if you could attend the next Instructors Qualifying Course (including the BTEC Level 3 Advanced Award in Physical Restraint Practice) without the risk of being made to look or feel stupid or embarrassed, the fear of having to sit a written exam, the concern of failing or the worry of losing your money.
Many of you who contact us about attending our courses, especially the Restraint Instructors Qualifying Course (including the BTEC Level 3 Advanced Award in Physical Restraint Practice), normally have a few reservations about the training. In particular, what the training involves, the fear of having to stand up and give presentations and / or sit written exams, the embarrassment of failing the course and of course, the loss of your investment in the course fee if you do fail.
Many of the concerns that we get seem to come from previous training experinces where you may have been made to do something that you didn't want to do or where you were ridiculed and / or made to feel embarrassed about something you did.
I therefore thought I would write a few lines about what you can expect to help alleviate some concerns and fears that may exist as there are possibly many of you out there who would make great instructors and who would like to attend but don't do so because of some of the concerns above.
Giving Presentations
During the physical skills element of the course you will work in groups of 4 with each person taking turns in instructing. You won't be expected to stand up in-front of a large audience and give a formal presentation.
Sitting Exams
Many individuals have a fear of exams which very possibly stems from bad past experiences. We are very aware of this and as part of our learner-led approach we have taken this feedback into consideration and have consolidated our assessment criteria. What this means is that instead of the formal 'classroom style examination experience' we provide a more informal environment for the written work to be done in. As part of our commitment to become as inclusive as possible we also have the facility for you to sit with an instructor who will talk you through the exam papers so that you can provide your answers verbally should the thought of having to write answers in a test paper not suit you.
What if I fail?
We have been doing this for so long now that we have refined our training to the point where we are achieving consistent pass rates of around 98%. What that means is that providing you arrive with the physical ability to do the training, the personal motivation to want to pass, an open mind that is willing to learn new and exciting ways of being taught and delivering instruction, and a positive attitude you will find it very hard to fail, and we will do everything within our power to ensure you do.
Focussing on the positive
Ever been on courses that keep on telling you what you are doing wrong? Not on this one!! We know that what we focus on we get more of so we focus on what it is that we need to do to ensure that you only focus on what you're doing right. This is part of our advanced training system which is based on our in-depth coaching experience combined with advanced NLP and Hypnotherapy techniques - which we will also teach to you so you can become more effective at getting the best out of those you will go on to teach after successfully passing as an instructor.
Will I be able to teach it once I leave?
Once you have registered and paid for the course you will receive a very comprehensive Instructors Manual with photographic breakdown of technique. In addition, you will also receive all of the lectures in PowerPoint format which are ready for use. In addition we are also working on a dvd which shows the full system which will be available for by the next course. We have already tested it with many of the successful delegates who have preceded you and all of them felt that it helped them recall the skills they learned and mastered on the course.
Can I pay in instalments or by credit card?
Yes. We can set up a direct debit for you and you can also pay by credit-card on our web-site to help you spread the cost of the course.
Our commitment to your success
We are committed to ensuring that we do whatever it is we need to do to ensure that your time with us is a pleasant learning experience and that you pass the course. Provided you arrive with the ability to do it and a positive mental attitude we will do the rest.
Our Guarantee
If for whatever reason during the course you do not feel the course is for you, you don't pass, or you simply feel that you have made a wrong decision we will refund you 75% of your fee back to you without question (the other 25% covers the food and accommodation costs) on receipt back of our instructional material.
You have possibly everything to gain and nothing to lose!!
In summary:
We treat you like adults - you are no longer at school. We coach you - we don't beast you. We work with you - not against you. We support you - not let you down.
The rest is up to you.
