Has The New PI Accreditation Been Put Back to 2021 [Video]

As many of you will know NHS England have made it a condition of contract that anyone providing training to a NHS Trust with a Mental Health Unit in England must have the new PI certification by April 2020.

However, I have just received a copy of the NHS England Standard Contract 2020/21 (Draft Technical Guidance) and in there it seems to state (albeit a bit vague) the provider needs to prepare for implementation, “to commence no later than 1 April 2021”.

I have emailed NHS England to ask for clarification on what the statement actually means and if and when I get a reply I will let you all know.

In the meanwhile, for those of you who may have to seek the new PI certification it may be worth you checking this out.

Hope that helps.
